The State of Minnesota seeks Trainee-Graduate Engineers for its MnDOT graduate training program. Trainees rotate through Construction, Design, Materials, Project Management, Traffic, and Water Resources across multiple Minnesota locations.

Start dates are January and May each year, with a two-year path to permanent Engineer 2 status. Minimum qualifications include a BS in Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical/Structural engineering from ABET-accredited school, GPA >2.5, and a valid Class D driver's

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field from ABET-accredited college/university or equivalent by hire date.
• GPA higher than 2.5 as of hire.
• Valid Class D driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 2-year Graduate Engineer Training Program with rotations across Construction, Design, Materials, Project Management, Traffic, and Water Resources.
• Complete required rotations and demonstrate satisfactory performance; rotations include out-of-state rotations for Bridge, Hydraulics, and related areas.
• Aim to become a registered Professional Engineer within 6 years and attain FE exam certification during the program.
