Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) seeks Trainee-Graduate Engineers for a 2-year rotation program across Construction, Design, Materials, Project Management, Traffic, and Water Resources. Selected trainees rotate through offices statewide with structured mentorship and growth opportunities.

Starting January and May cohorts, you must meet ABET/EAC standards, maintain GPA >2.5, and obtain FE and eventual PE licensure to advance to Engineer 2.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA > 2.5
• ABET-accredited or equivalent degree with civil coursework
• Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Participation in a 2-year rotation program across Construction, Design, Materials, Project Management, Traffic, or Water Resources
• Mentorship and professional engineer growth support throughout rotations
• Complete 3–6 month rotations and achieve required performance and FE/PE milestones
