Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Fire Protection or related area.
• Must have graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university at the time of hire.
• Must have less than three years of professional work experience.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Extensive computer skills with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Strong written/oral communication, analytical and PC skills related to their education/training desired.
• Prior internship a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer the U. S. Steel Safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the assigned facility
• Assist organizations in improvements in their safety performance including coordination of programs to prevent accidents as well as conducting accident/injury investigations
• Integrate Safety Practices and Principles through the assigned facility, including the application of company and plant safety goals and objectives
• Assist in the development and delivery of Safety Training
• Provide technical and compliance related support to the assigned plant and will assist in the development of safety processes and programs driving improvement in safety performance
