Job summary

Warren CAT in Odessa, TX seeks a Rental Technician II (R) on a rotating schedule to service Caterpillar equipment at customer sites. You will remove/install parts, perform repairs, document work orders, and ensure safety and quality on every job.

The role requires 2–5 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days. You will work with CAT systems, diagnostic software, and lifting equipment, and you may travel up to 100%.

Qualifications

• Specific CAT product line knowledge of natural gas engines, electrical, electronic, mechanical systems and components to include Preventative Maintenance Services.
• Position requires basic knowledge of gas/diesel engines and EPG systems and troubleshooting.
• Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
• This position requires the ability to provide accurate quotes.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2-5 years of related experience
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire for field assignment.
• Must be at least 21 to be assigned and operate field vehicle.
• Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
• Will be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs and tasks within ERLG without sacrificing quality and/or safety.
• Work safely and follow WCAT safety policies and procedures.
• Complete related paperwork and access required databases accurately.
• Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies.
• Understand and apply Cat reusability guidelines.
• Submit parts and core returns with documentation.
• Perform warranty downloads of ECM.
• Test and verify correct operation of repairs and adjustments.
• Apply general failure analysis to determine proper diagnosis.
• Complete all Level I & II training in a timely manner.
• Able to mentor Rental team members.
