Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) offers internship and co‑op opportunities for high-performing college students to gain hands-on experience in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. Interns rotate through L&S components and participate in the Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP).

On-site 40 hours per week with travel 15–35% is typical; multiple work terms are preferred to gain exposure across Engineering, MPSE, MPL, Terminals, and Marine groups.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree seeking program for the duration of the experience.
• Strong academic performance.
• Available to work on site 40 hours per week.
• Valid driver’s license for work-related travel; travel ranges from 15-35%.
• Must be able to provide reliable transportation to and from place of work.
• Authorized to work in the United States with the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Available for multiple work terms is preferred.
