Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking highly motivated engineers for the 2027 TMP Tech & NPI Entry Level Engineering Rotation program in San Diego, CA.

This purpose-driven rotation places you in two to three rotations of 16–20 weeks each, building broad exposure across turbomachinery disciplines. Applicants must hold a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemistry, Materials, or related fields, with a 2.8 GPA, and be willing to relocate and work onsite full-time.

Qualifications

• Must have or be pursuing a Master’s degree in an accredited engineering program (Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemistry, Materials).
• Overall GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
• Applied knowledge of engineering fundamentals and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and willingness to relocate to San Diego, CA for full-time office work.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a two to three rotation program, each lasting 16–20 weeks.
• Work within Turbomachinery Technology and New Product Introduction to gain broad exposure across disciplines.
• Contribute to aerodynamic, heat transfer, combustion, AM, and data science related projects as part of the rotation.
