Job summary

The Dow Chemical Company in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Rotating Equipment Specialist to ensure safe, reliable operation of pumps, compressors, turbines and motors. You will mentor mechanics, drive reliability improvements and support maintenance planning in a fast-paced site environment.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, on-site collaboration with maintenance and reliability engineering, and adherence to safety standards to sustain plant performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience at or above a U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience maintaining rotating equipment; 10+ years if no degree.
• Ability to work on call schedule (roughly one week per quarter).
• U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical resource for the maintenance team.
• Review and adjust preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Check sizing of components and parts.
• Specify, requisition, and support installation of parts/equipment.
• Coordinate identification of critical spare parts.
• Support maintenance planning activities as needed.
• Identify and support training of mechanics.
• Oversee and ensure high‑quality repairs and consistent results.
• Assist repairs, maintenance and installation of equipment used in the process.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and document failure analyses.
• Collect equipment operation/history data to drive reliability improvements.
• Work within Maintenance Work Processes and resolve scheduling issues.
• Interface with Maintenance and Reliability engineering to support improvement efforts.
