Job summary

Giggle and Grow Nursery is seeking a compassionate Room Leader Nursery Nurse to join our team, guiding a dedicated room and supporting the growth and development of children from birth to five years.

You will work alongside the Nursery Manager and Proprietor to deliver high-quality care, plan engaging activities, monitor progress, liaise with parents, and ensure a safe, welcoming, stimulating environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant childcare qualification, minimum Level 3 in Childcare or Early Years.
• Previous experience working with young children is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
• A genuine love for children and commitment to their welfare.
• Knowledge of child development theories and practices is an advantage.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing situations within the nursery environment.
• A current First Aid qualification is beneficial but not essential at the time of application.

Responsibilities

• Promote the aims and objectives of the nursery.
• Manage and supervise your designated room on a day-to-day basis.
• Act as a keyworker for a group of children and organise the keyworker system.
• Supervise staff daily to ensure good practice.
• Be the key holder for opening and closing the nursery.
• Safeguard and promote welfare of children.
• Manage children's behaviour appropriately.
• Promote teamwork and collaborate with parents and professionals.
• Liaise with management and other professionals and provide reports as required.
• Provide high-quality care and education.
• Plan and implement engaging activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.
• Observe and assess children's progress and maintain records.
• Create a safe and welcoming environment.
• Work with parents and caregivers to support individual needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the nursery space.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement.
