Job summary

Strand Hospitality is seeking a Room Attendant at The J Hotel and Grant Street Inn in Dunedin, FL to maintain guest room cleanliness and public spaces while upholding brand standards.

Base pay ranges from $16.00 to $17.00 per hour for a full-time, non-exempt role. Benefits include Aetna medical/dental/vision, paid time off, life insurance, a 401(k) with up to 4% match, holiday pay, and worldwide hotel discounts.

Responsibilities

• Receive list of assigned rooms from supervisor and prioritize accordingly.
• Follow sign in/out procedures for keys to access rooms.
• Check inventory of cleaning cart and replenish supplies as needed.
• Enter rooms after knocking and announce; notify supervisor of any issues.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and living spaces per policy; restock amenities.
• Ensure room meets brand standards with a final walkaround.
• Notify supervisor of lost and found items and arrange storage as needed.
• Cross-train in cleaning rooms, housekeeping, and laundry as required.

Job Summary

To maintain the cleanliness and the appearance of guest accommodations and public space. The Room Attendant will ensure he/she meets all brand or hotel standards in the rooms and public spaces.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Room Attendant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Receive list of assigned rooms from supervisor. Prioritize rooms based on direction from supervisor or as noted on list.


• Follow sign in/out procedures for key to access rooms.


• Check the inventory of cleaning cart and add any necessary supplies.


• Knock and announce self before entering room; return at a later time if rooms are occupied.


• Upon entry, immediately notify supervisor of any damage or strong odor to room.


• Immediately notify supervisor of suspicious activity.


• Remove linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets from each assigned room and provide fresh replacements. Follow appropriate protocol for checkouts versus stayovers.


• Neatly make beds and stock towels, washcloths, and hand towels according to policies.


• Thoroughly clean and disinfect bathroom and kitchenette or coffee-preparation areas according to hotel polices.


• Disinfect all surfaces, to include all high-touch items; wall and lamp switches, thermostat, door handles, telephone, TV remote(s), etc.


• Clean mirrors, glass and dust pictures and other objects in room.


• Vacuum floors and remove trash.


• Check complimentary coffee, snacks, and toiletry supplies in the room, restocking according to provided hotel checklist and policy.


• Ensure room meets hotel and brand standards with a final walkaround.


• Notify supervisor of found items and bring to lost and found if guest has checked out.


• Notify supervisor of rollaways or cribs in rooms for pickup and storage.


• Notify supervisor of room availability.


• Ensure soiled linens are provided to laundry timely.


• Notify maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs based on hotel processes.


• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to be flexible and work weekends, holidays and be scheduled any days of the week. Weekends are required.
