Job summary

Hotel Saint Cecilia, part of the Bunkhouse family, is seeking a Housekeeping Room Attendant to ensure cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas, back of house and linens. You will follow established policies, health guidelines and safety standards to maintain a pristine property in a dynamic hospitality setting.

Responsibilities include completing checklists, reporting maintenance needs, managing linens and supplies, and supporting special projects.

Qualifications

• High school education preferred.
• One year related experience in hospitality or service industry.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or guests.

Responsibilities

• Complete an in-room checklist for each assigned room.
• Notify supervisor about rooms out of order due to maintenance.
• Clean guest rooms, public spaces, exteriors and back of house daily.
• Maintain linens, cleaning supplies and guest amenities per par levels.
• Keep storage rooms stocked with par levels.
• Report deficiencies in rooms or public areas to the appropriate staff.
• Assist with projects like mattress rotation, window washing, deep cleans.
• Support implementation of special projects.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff and guests.
• Maintain communication between departments (e.g., room status).
• Promote guest name recognition and knowledge of services.

Summary

Hotel Saint Cecilia is looking for a Housekeeping Room Attendant who will be responsible for the cleanliness of the property including guest rooms, public areas, back of house, exterior public space, and linens. Housekeepers will follow the policies, standards and guidelines established by the Bunkhouse, the Department of Health, and any other applicable government agencies.

Job Requirements

• Responsible for completing an in-room checklist for each room you are assigned
• Notify Housekeeping Supervisor and/or immediate supervisor about any guest rooms that need to be placed out of order for maintenance concerns
• Responsible for cleaning of guest rooms, public spaces, exteriors and Back of House daily
• Continually maintain inventory of linens, cleaning supplies and guest amenities to ensure adequate supplies in accordance with established par levels and timeframe
• Maintain the storage rooms with at least one (1) par clean at all times
• Report and correct any deficiencies noted in guest rooms or public areas to the appropriate individuals
• Assist in the timely completion of all projects including mattress rotation, window washing, deep cleanings, etc.
• Assist in implementation of special projects
• Maintain a positive relationship with employees and guests
• Maintain constant communication between all departments (i.e. room status)
• Promote and encourage guest name recognition at all times
• Possess knowledge of all guest services and amenities
• Ensure all calls are answered in a courteous, professional and efficient manner
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
• Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
• Keep abreast of safety and OSHA requirements
• Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures
• Attend all relevant meetings
• Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and oral instructions

Working Conditions/Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting
• The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift
• The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day
