Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation is seeking a Room Attendant to join the Parsippany/Morris Plains team. The role supports housekeeping by cleaning guest rooms and public spaces in accordance with brand standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities include making beds, cleaning bathrooms, restocking supplies, and reporting maintenance needs. Previous housekeeping experience is preferred; English fluency is beneficial, with mornings/evenings/weekends availability required.

Qualifications

• Some previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Background from the extended stay industry preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred.
• Basic reading, writing and mathematical abilities are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash.
• Notify supervisor when service is completed so rooms may be sold or occupied; report rooms unable to be serviced.
• Operate laundry equipment when assigned, fold and store clean linens, report damages.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other shifts and management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations; report needed repairs or unsafe conditions.

Report any room unable to be serviced to supervisor according to established procedures.* When assigned to laundry, monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order. Operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers’ guidelines. Receive soiled linens and inspect for damaged or stained items.
