Job summary

Coast Hotels is seeking a Room Attendant at the Seattle downtown location. The role emphasizes maintaining high cleanliness standards and delivering welcoming guest experiences. You will work with the Housekeeping team to clean guestrooms, ensure supplies are stocked, and support safety and quality at all times.

The position requires reliable, detail-oriented individuals with hospitality drive, flexible availability including evenings and weekends, and a commitment to Coast Hotels' values.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred; minimum one year of related experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service assigned guestrooms in accordance with Coast Hotels' cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
• Review daily room assignments and priorities with the Housekeeping Supervisor at the beginning of each shift.
• Change linens and make beds according to established procedures and service standards.
• Ensure guestrooms, bathrooms, furniture, fixtures, and amenities are clean, organized, and guest-ready.
• Verify that all room amenities and supplies are fully stocked and properly arranged.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures at all times.

Position Summary

The Room Attendant plays an important role in ensuring Coast Hotels' standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort are consistently achieved. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned guestrooms and contributing to a safe, welcoming, and memorable guest experience.

Working as part of the Housekeeping team, the Room Attendant helps maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the hotel while supporting a positive team environment and delivering exceptional internal and external customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Guestroom Cleaning & Presentation

• Clean and service assigned guestrooms in accordance with Coast Hotels' cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
• Review daily room assignments and priorities with the Housekeeping Supervisor at the beginning of each shift.
• Change linens and make beds according to established procedures and service standards.
• Ensure guestrooms, bathrooms, furniture, fixtures, and amenities are clean, organized, and guest-ready.
• Verify that all room amenities and supplies are fully stocked and properly arranged.
• Ensure drapes, sheers, windows, and balcony doors are properly closed and secured before completing each room.
• Perform room inspections to identify deficiencies and ensure quality standards are maintained.

Safety, Maintenance & Quality Assurance

• Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
• Conduct routine room checks and promptly report discrepancies or concerns.
• Identify maintenance issues and complete work orders as required.
• Immediately report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or guestroom deficiencies.
• Follow all hotel policies and procedures related to cleanliness, safety, security, and guest service.

Inventory & Equipment Management

• Ensure housekeeping carts are properly stocked and organized throughout each shift.
• Monitor supply levels and communicate replenishment needs to Housekeeping leadership.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and tools are maintained in good working condition.
• Sort recyclable materials in accordance with Coast Hotels' recycling program guidelines.

Lost & Found & Administrative Responsibilities

• Turn in all lost and found items to the Housekeeping Office immediately upon leaving an assigned floor.
• Maintain accurate communication regarding room status and completed assignments.
• Support departmental operations and assist with special projects or assignments as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Housekeeping leadership.

• Deliver exceptional service to guests and fellow Ambassadors.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Basic verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities effectively.

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to perform the physical demands associated with cleaning and servicing guestrooms.
