Job summary

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is seeking a Housekeeping (Room Attendant) to maintain clean, comfortable guest rooms in a fast-paced environment. You will receive assignments from supervisors, make beds, clean bathrooms, dust furniture, and ensure supplies are stocked to meet guest needs.

Shifts rotate and weekends/holidays are required. The role includes benefits such as daily meals, medical, dental, vision coverage, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.

Job Overview

Position: Housekeeping (Room Attendant) at La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Hourly rate $20.50.

Responsibilities

• Receive work assignments and schedules from supervisory staff.
• Make beds.
• Scrub bathroom floors, walls, mirrors, and fixtures.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas.
• Dust all furniture and lighting fixtures.
• Replenish supplies such as coffee filters, paper towels, writing supplies, linen, and bathroom supplies.
• Replace light bulbs.
• Clean patio railings, furniture, and decks.
• Wash kitchen dishes, pots, pans, and utensils upon checkout.
• Sweep, scrub, mop, wax, and polish floors.
• Spot clean all carpeted areas, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of carts, storage areas, and equipment.
• Adjust status by phone when a room is ready for guest occupancy.
• Report maintenance problems to the supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education and at least one month of related experience or training preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information clearly to customers, clients, and coworkers.
• Bilingual in English and another language preferred.
• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using units of weight measurement.
• Reasoning ability: apply common sense to detailed or routine instructions.
• Physical abilities: stand, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, lift up to 10 lbs frequently, lift up to 25 lbs often, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; handle outdoor weather and moderate to loud noise.

Scheduling

Work weekends and holidays is required. The club operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will rotate based on business needs.
