About the Position

Join the dynamic and diverse team at La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, Inc. as a Housekeeping Staff Member. You will maintain cleanliness of public areas, employee areas, and guest rooms while ensuring a welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, lobby, meeting rooms, elevators, stairwells, walkways, sauna, fitness center, guest laundry, cafeteria, locker rooms, offices, pool deck, courtyard, and all associated contents.
• Scrub guest and employee restroom walls, floors, mirrors, fixtures, sinks, vanities, toilets, and urinals.
• Replenish restroom supplies and record tasks performed on cleaning log posted in each restroom.
• Sweep, mop, clean, wax, and polish floors.
• Empty and clean wastebaskets and ashtrays; transport trash and waste to disposal area.
• Assist guests with requested items (towels, amenities, pillows, blankets).
• Maintain the housekeeping office and linen rooms in a neat and orderly condition; replenish supplies as needed.
• Receive and schedule basic work assignments from housekeeping supervisory staff and additional assignments from front desk staff and management.
• Perform general cleaning of all listed areas and any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Less than high school education or up to one‑month related experience or training; equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• Preferred experience: Previous property maintenance or janitorial/custodial skills.
• Language skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively to customers and staff; English proficiency required; bilingual preferred.
• Mathematical skills: Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
• Reasoning ability: Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and solve simple problems in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

The role requires frequent standing and walking (6‑8 hours), reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Employees must also adapt to varying weather conditions and moderate to loud noise levels.

Working Conditions

Work occurs in outdoor weather conditions, occasionally wet or humid. Employees must adhere to safety procedures and report any hazards.
