Job summary

Omni Richmond Hotel is seeking a Room Attendant to maintain high cleanliness standards in guest rooms. The role involves refreshing occupied rooms and thoroughly cleaning rooms vacated for the next guest, in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Responsibilities include bed making, bathroom cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, restocking supplies, and communicating room status. You will uphold Omni Safe and Clean standards and participate in required trainings.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service.
• Prior housekeeping or environmental services experience.
• Able to stand or walk for extended periods; flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

• Thoroughly clean guest rooms including: making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Uphold Omni Safe and Clean processes.
• Restock and replace used items within guest rooms.
• Communicate clean status of each room upon completion.
• Remove room service trays and tables from guest rooms.
• Stock supply cart and ensure that it is neat and well organized at all times.
• Check all equipment prior to and after use to ensure that it is in good working order.
• Maintain a professional, neat and organized appearance according to Omni standards.
• Respond swiftly and effectively in any emergency or safety situations. Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury or accident.
• Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
• Perform any other duties required by management.

Room Attendant

Overview

The Guest Room Attendant position is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in each guest room. Room Attendants refresh rooms for guests who are continuing their stay, as well as thoroughly clean rooms of guests who have checked out in preparation for the next guest checking in.

• Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead and squatting.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed during busy times and high-profile events, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.
• Must possess the ability to handle stressful and busy hotel operations. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure at all times.
• Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.
• Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Must meet standards of appearance and maintain a high level of personal hygiene at all time.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Computer literacy to include: Payroll systems
