Position Overview
The Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and presentation in our Guest rooms, Villas and Residences.
Rate of Pay
Full‑time, hourly position at $21.00/hr.
Essential Functions
- Always comply with Timbers Company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Practice safe work habits to ensure safety for guests, fellow associates, and self.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
- Maintain Guestrooms, Villas, Homes of Distinction and Buildings to ensure a safe and clean experience for owners, guests, associates and vendors.
- Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
- Complete daily assignment checklists and submit them to supervisor.
- Set up cleaning caddies with supplies and prepare linen bags. Maintain transportation vans and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning process.
- Complete all pre‑cleaning duties, including but not limited to, guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping caddies and transportation van set‑up.
- Thoroughly clean and restock the required number of units per shift.
- Remove all trash and dirty linen from Guestrooms, Villas and Homes of Distinction.
- Strip bed of all linens and remake with fresh linens.
- Check closet for cleanliness, wipe closet door, handle and overhead shelves and restock the guest room supplies (hangers, extra blankets, extra pillows).
- Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets, baseboards, fixtures, vents, ceiling fans and kitchen appliances in units per shift.
- Wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and stall walls.
- Replace towels, soaps and all bathroom amenities, ensuring adequate supply for arriving guests.
- Vacuum and steam all hard floor areas, vacuum carpeted areas and attend to stains.
- Dust and polish all furniture in living room, dining room and patios, including fixtures and wall hangings.
- Vacuum rooms, public areas and hallways.
- Inspect door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and immediately alert management to an unsecure or unsafe situation for the safety of guests and employees.
- Check lights and remotes to ensure all are in working order.
- Handle items for lost and found according to resort standards.
- At the end of the shift, turn in all the keys in the key box and assignment sheets to the Housekeeping Office.
- Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Position Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Residences / Villas / Resort or related is preferred.
Preferred: Must have a valid driver’s license; a motor vehicle background check will be completed.

- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns or issues raised by coworkers and/or guests.
- Being able to work as a team is critical and availability to work independently is essential as well.
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
Working Conditions - Physical/Mental Requirements
- Position requires you to be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, twist and stoop for prolonged periods of time.
- Lifting requirements up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head, bending, and stooping to perform deep cleaning tasks.
- Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must be able to work in different types of weather sometimes extreme, including high temperatures and humidity.
Hours Required
40 hours per week, flexible schedule. Will be required to work weekends and/or holidays.
