Job Description

The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in all guest rooms and hallway areas of the hotel by performing the following duties:

Job Responsibilities

1. Clean, dust, wax, scrub, polish, and service guest rooms daily according to hotel procedures.
2. Stock carts with guest room supplies at the beginning and end of shifts.
3. Greet all guests courteously.
4. Replace linens and replenish guest room supplies and amenities.
5. Empty wastebaskets and dispose of waste properly.
6. Rearrange furnishings, drapes, and room accessories as needed.
7. Leave guest rooms in a uniform state, ensuring doors are closed and rooms are locked after cleaning.
8. Report damages, hazards, repairs needed, and any strangers in assigned areas.
9. Return found items to the Housekeeping department, documenting details such as date, location, description, and finder’s name.
10. Manage all keys signed out for the shift responsibly.
11. Clean corridors and service areas.
12. Respond to project requests from the Housekeeping management team.

Job Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent; or up to six months of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Ability to read, recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers, and communicate simple sentences.
3. Ability to understand and follow detailed written or oral instructions; problem-solving skills in various situations.
4. Effective communication skills with guests; awareness of situations requiring supervisory attention; commitment to guest safety and security.
5. Physical ability to stand, walk, feel objects, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, reach, climb, and balance as required.
6. Ability to lift/move up to 25-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
