Job summary

Ideal Building Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer to support roofing projects from preconstruction to execution. The role focuses on coordinating deliverables, documentation, and proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.

This in-office, full-time position requires strong organizational skills, experience with construction documentation, and a proactive approach to project control and QC tracking.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and PDF editing tools.
• Familiarity with construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and change order processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Comfortable with 10% regional travel (primarily Southeast).
• Proficient in construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, Monday, Salesforce, or similar preferred).

Responsibilities

• Purchase Orders: Create, maintain, and manage main project-specific purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Shop Drawings: Schedule, review, log, and track shop drawings; ensure timely approvals and upload submittals.
• Project Audits: Support audits with up-to-date documentation and cost verification.
• RFIs: Draft, submit, and track RFIs; coordinate responses between design team and stakeholders.
• Change Orders: Prepare and track change order requests with full backup.
• Preconstruction Activities: Participate in early planning, scope reviews, and logistical planning.
• Attend pre-construction meetings with general contractors and lead Friday coordination meetings.
• Quality Control Tracking: Review QC reports and help track observations.
• Weekly pay and benefits administration: participate in related processes.
