Job summary

Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is seeking a proactive restaurant server to deliver high-end service for food and beverage operations. The role includes greeting guests, setting tables, upselling menu items, and coordinating with the culinary team to meet dietary needs and requests.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of serving experience, be able to input data into MICROS, and hold TIPS and ServSafe certifications. Strong English communication and calm, customer-focused demeanor are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year serving experience.
• Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines.
• Previous cash handling experience required.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
• Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all Omni rules, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Greet guests by utilizing the All-In impression standards set forth by Omni.
• Set tables according to type of event and service standards as directed by leadership.
• Suggestively sell items and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections.
• Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests.
• Record transaction in MICROS system in a timely manner.
• Adhere to cash handling standards.
• Ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage.
• Present accurate check to guest and process payment.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Station set-up and breakdown/side-work.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
