Shaner Hotels’ Tierra Verde Residence Inn in the St. Petersburg area seeks a capable line cook to support kitchen operations. You will help plan, prep, and execute menu items, ensuring consistent quality for all outlets and events.

The role requires creativity, strong sanitation knowledge, and the stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced hotel kitchen; food safety certification is preferred. Flexibility for weekends and varied shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a line cook or relevant role.
• Attention to detail and creativity are essential.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification and food safety certification preferred.
• Deep knowledge of sanitation principles, food prep, baking techniques, and nutrition; safe food handling certificate preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Physical strength and stamina for long hours standing and repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Creates and designs new and unique menu items.
• Assists the Executive Chef in budgeting and adhering to guidelines.
• Ensure all food and beverage products are prepared and served to hotel standards.
• Keep all equipment clean and in good condition through inspections and preventative programs.
• Comply with health, safety, and labor regulations applicable to kitchen areas, staff, and guests.
• Plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production per standards and plating guides.
