The host plays a critical role in the guest experience, as he/she is the first and last person to interact with our guests. By definition, a host is ‘the person who receives or entertains other people as guests’. You are responsible for setting the tone!

Responsibilities And Authorities

• Always treat guests with courtesy and respect in various situations.
• Display honesty & integrity.
• Be an inspirational leader who motivates team members to serve others, always looking for opportunities to improve.
• Build strong partnerships with internal customers and outside vendors.

Specific Duties

• Welcome and greet all guests.
• Know restaurant and company information, including hours of operation, directions, neighborhood details, sister properties, and names and titles of corporate employees.
• Recognize regular and VIP guests.
• Use personality and hospitality skills to provide a seamless and memorable guest experience.
• Dress professionally in clean, presentable attire, and always wear a smile.
• Check guests in and walk them to tables, engaging in conversation.
• Pull out chairs and present menus individually.
• Listen to guest complaints and work to diffuse unhappy situations, involving management when necessary.
• Master the operations of the Open Table system.
• Complete all opening and closing side work as assigned.
• Interact with employees and guests cheerfully and professionally.
• Communicate with the Maitre’d about open tables, long waits, or guest issues.
• Handle reservations, answer phone calls warmly and professionally, and cater to guest requests via email and phone.
• Confirm reservations one day prior and communicate event inquiries to the Sales Team.
• Forward all phone messages and handle credit card authorizations and disputes.
• Manage lost and found inquiries and maintain an organized reservation system.
• Understand the restaurant's floor plan and service flow, and communicate all relevant information to the team.
• Always remember that phone interactions are a vital part of the guest experience, as you are the first impression of the restaurant.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of similar experience.
• Understanding of reservation systems (Open Table).

Seasonal Period

• End date of September 15, 2025; subject to business needs.

Rate Of Pay

• $22.00/hour
