Job description

The Project Advisor is the face of the brand in the homeowner's driveway and at the kitchen table. You will run pre-set appointments provided by the company, diagnose what a home actually needs, educate the homeowner on their options, and close work that our production teams can deliver profitably and without surprises. We generate the leads and set the appointments so that your time goes where it belongs, which is in front of customers. This is a needs-based advisory role rather than a pitch, and the advisors who succeed here are the ones homeowners trust with the largest project on their house.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Run Appointments and Diagnose the Home
  • Run multiple pre-set appointments daily with homeowners, arriving prepared and on time.
  • Perform thorough rooftop inspections when safe access is possible, and attic inspections when feasible, to assess ventilation, moisture, and hidden damage.
  • Assess the homeowner's full exterior needs across roofing, siding, gutters, windows, and doors rather than only the item that prompted the call.
  • Capture accurate measurements and site details so that ordering, permitting, and installation proceed without rework.
  • Document conditions with photos, and mark up those photos to assist the production team with job planning.
Advise, Estimate, and Close
  • Educate homeowners on product options, material and efficiency tradeoffs, and the repair versus replacement decision.
  • Walk homeowners through insurance processes when applicable, setting accurate expectations about what is and is not covered.
  • Prepare and present detailed, accurate estimates using company estimating tools.
  • Present financing and payment options, negotiate, and close the sale at the appointment whenever possible.
  • Sell scope that is deliverable and priced correctly, protecting both the customer's outcome and company margin.
Own the Pipeline
  • Own a pipeline and move every lead through the funnel to a decision rather than letting opportunities age out.
  • Follow up by phone, text, and email with the persistence and professionalism the decision warrants.
  • Maintain current, accurate records of leads, appointments, quotes, and job progress in the CRM.
  • Manage a daily schedule and calendar independently, adhering to the appointments and priorities set by the office.
Set Up the Job for Delivery
  • Complete all required paperwork and project documentation once a job is sold.
  • Hand off complete, unambiguous job details to project management and operations so nothing is rediscovered in the field.
  • Maintain communication with the customer and internal teams throughout the job lifecycle, from sale through completion.
  • Resolve issues that arise on jobs you sold, and elevate earlier when a resolution needs support.
Build Expertise and Reputation
  • Attend training sessions and stay current on product updates, code changes, and industry best practices.
  • Build and maintain client relationships that generate referrals and repeat work.
  • Represent the brand with the integrity and craftsmanship standards that distinguish us from the contractors we compete against.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2 or more years of sales experience, ideally in construction, home improvement, or a related building products industry.
  • Demonstrated history of success built on personal and professional integrity.
  • Proven negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to earn a decision at the appointment.
  • Ability to fully own a pipeline and move leads down the sales funnel to closed jobs.
  • Subject matter knowledge of the residential building envelope preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project estimation and specification processes.
  • High attention to detail, particularly on measurements and site documentation that drive ordering and installation.
  • Relatable and effective communication and presentation abilities, with strong customer service instincts.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong command of CRM systems, estimating tools, and mobile applications for job documentation.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem resolution at a high level, with accountability and dependability.
  • Adherence to company standards, including safety standards, and alignment with company culture.
  • Valid driver’s license with motor vehicle record that meets company policy.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Compensation
  • Fully commissioned position with target earnings of $120,000+, with no cap on what top performers can earn.
  • Training pay with the opportunity to earn commission.
  • Company provided vehicle for travel to appointments.
Support and Growth
  • Company-generated, pre-set appointments, with expected cold calling or self-generated leads required.
  • Company-provided tablet, estimating software, and CRM.
  • Paid onboarding plus ongoing sales, product, and manufacturer training.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development tied to your personal interests
  • A transparent, supportive, and collaborative work environment
  • The chance to make a positive impact on our communities and the environment
  • Competitive: Health, dental, and vision coverage; PTO; Paid Holidays; Life Insurance; 401k with match
