Job summary

The Roofing Mechanic at SUNation Roofing, LLC leads all field operations on assigned projects to ensure timely, profitable completion. This role supervises Roofing Laborers and Helpers on-site, requiring strong leadership, organization, time management, and excellent communication and client service skills.

Key duties include on-site supervision of the crew, assembling roofing materials, setting up sites with equipment and scaffolding, enforcing OSHA safety standards, coordinating with the Site

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of industry experience.
• Ability to identify roofing materials and install/repair per SUNation Roofing, LLC specifications.
• Proficient with roofing hand tools.
• Able to identify safety hazards and mitigate risks.
• Physically able to work outdoors, lift and maneuver heavy materials.
• Able to work at heights.
• Strong reading of drawings and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force including assistants and subcontractors.
• Assemble roofing materials including shingles into a water-tight system.
• Set up project sites with equipment, dumpsters, materials, and scaffolding.
• Work safely in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Communicate with Site Foreman and Roofing Manager to complete daily projects.
• Maintain neat and orderly project sites.
• Develop and maintain site logistics with Sr. Project Manager.
• Enforce Safety and Health Management Program.
• Attend project meetings.

Summary:

The Roofing Mechanic is responsible for managing all field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. The Roofing Mechanic will work in conjunction with, and directly supervise Roofing Laborers and Roofing Helpers on-site. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as having a strong work-ethic, communication, and client service skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force including assistants, subcontractors and other construction related personnel
• Assembling roofing material Including asphalt shingles, and wood shingles into a water-tight system.
• Setting up of project sites including equipment, dumpsters, materials, and scaffolding
• Working in a safe manner that complies with OSHA safety Standards
• Communication with Site Foreman and Roofing Manager in order to complete daily projects
• Maintaining the project site in a neat and orderly fashion
• Develop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Sr. Project Manager
• Communicate and enforce Safety and Health Management Program
• Attend and participate in project meetings

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

• Ability to identify types of roofing materials and properly install or make repairs according to SUNation Roofing, LLC and Manufacturer’s Written Specifications
• 4+ years of industry experience
• Ability to use all hand tools associated with roofing install including simple hand tools
• Ability to identify safety hazards on projects and take corrective measure to eliminate risk
• Physical ability to work outdoors, lift and maneuver heavy-weighted objects including materials and equipment
• Ability to work at heights
• Broad understanding of the roofing industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
• Functions effectively as part of a team
