Job summary

SUNation Roofing, LLC is seeking a Roofing Mechanic to manage field operations and directly supervise Roofing Laborers and Helpers on-site. You will coordinate with the Site Foreman to ensure timely, profitable project completion and maintain a clean, organized site.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in roofing, the ability to read drawings, strong leadership and communication skills, and the physical ability to work at heights and lift materials. OSHA 10 is required or provided after hire.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising roofing crews and subcontractors on-site.
• Ability to identify roofing materials and install/repair per specs.
• Strong reading of drawings and project specifications.
• Willingness to work at heights and in outdoor conditions.
• OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain after hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor including assistants and subcontractors.
• Assemble roofing materials into a water-tight system.
• Set up project sites with equipment, dumpsters, materials and scaffolding.
• Maintain a safe work environment per OSHA standards.
• Communicate with Site Foreman and Roofing Manager to complete daily projects.
• Keep the site neat and organized and participate in project meetings.

Summary:

The Roofing Mechanic is responsible for managing all field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. The Roofing Mechanic will work in conjunction with, and directly supervise Roofing Laborers and Roofing Helpers on-site. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as having a strong work-ethic, communication, and client service skills.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force including assistants, subcontractors and other construction related personnel
• Assembling roofing material Including asphalt shingles, and wood shingles into a water-tight system.
• Setting up of project sites including equipment, dumpsters, materials, and scaffolding
• Working in a safe manner that complies with OSHA safety Standards
• Communication with Site Foreman and Roofing Manager in order to complete daily projects
• Maintaining the project site in a neat and orderly fashion
• Develop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Sr. Project Manager
• Communicate and enforce Safety and Health Management Program
• Attend and participate in project meetings

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

• Ability to identify types of roofing materials and properly install or make repairs according to SUNation Roofing, LLC and Manufacturer’s Written Specifications
• 4+ years of industry experience
• Ability to use all hand tools associated with roofing install including simple hand tools
• Ability to identify safety hazards on projects and take corrective measure to eliminate risk
• Physical ability to work outdoors, lift and maneuver heavy-weighted objects including materials and equipment
• Ability to work at heights
• Broad understanding of the roofing industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
• Functions effectively as part of a team
