Eastern Michigan University is seeking a skilled Roofer to perform maintenance, repair, and installation of various roofing systems on the Main Campus. You will interpret blueprints, manage materials, and ensure safe, efficient work with ladders and scaffolding.
The role requires high school completion, a roofing apprenticeship and journeyperson card, plus extensive field experience with a Michigan licensed contractor. Expect a full-time, on-site schedule with a 7:30 AM–4:00 PM shift.

Perform skilled roofing work.
Ability to read, write, interpret instructions, and perform basic arithmetic, typically acquired through the completion of a high school education is necessary.
Documented successful completion of a Department of Labor-recognized Roofing Apprenticeship Program and possession of a Department of Labor-recognized Roofing journeyperson's card with documentation of the required work experience is necessary.
Additional skilled Roofing experience with at least eight years of the last ten years on the active payroll of a State of Michigan licensed Roofing contractor performing tasks pertinent to EMU's needs is necessary.
Ability to perform physically active work of a medium-heavy nature, requiring frequent walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching activity to perform skilled Roofing work and frequent lifting requiring the exertion of up to 75 pounds of force to transport a toolbox, Roofing materials, plywood, or other supplies and equipment is necessary.
Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license is necessary.
Ability to meet Departmental standards of reasonable personal hygiene is necessary.
Salary: FM 22 = $42.47 an hour/$88,338.00 annually.
