Job summary

University of Vermont seeks a Building Envelope Specialist to maintain and repair exterior envelope systems according to manufacturer specs, University guidelines, and standard trade practices. You will access data via software, update records, and operate a university vehicle; aerial lift operations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and four years of roofing experience and experience working with other trade services.
• Proficient knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety, and equipment safety required.
• Experience using computers and mobile technology.
• Valid driver's license or ability to obtain and driver's check required.
• Ability to stand/walk on roofs and scaffolding, climb ladders and heights and steep angles on a regular basis.
• Must wear appropriate PPE when performing specific job functions.
• Initial employment contingent upon successful background check and physical screening.

Responsibilities

Job description

Building Envelope Spec

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all types of exterior building envelope systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, University guidelines, and normal trade practices. Access information utilizing appropriate software applications. Promote a workplace culture that encourages safety within the shop and in the field. Communicate problems and repair protocols/time frames to building occupants. Update records accordingly. Operate a university vehicle. May be required to operate an aerial lift. Report to Zone Supervisor and actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Anticipated Pay Range

$24.00-$27.00/hour

Special Conditions

• A probationary period may be required.
• Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime).
• This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions.
• Background Check required for this position.
• A post-offer pre-employment (POPE test) physical examination is required.
