Job summary

Craften Roofing & Exteriors is seeking a reliable Roof Inspector / Field Technician to inspect residential roofing systems, document findings, and be the friendly first contact for homeowners. The role emphasizes accuracy and professional service over sales.

You will perform inspections from ground to roof, capture photos and videos, operate drones where appropriate, and assist with minor on-site repairs within training scope. A customer-service mindset and basic tech skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
• Comfortable walking on residential roofs when conditions permit.
• Basic computer and smartphone skills.
• Ability to learn and consistently use apps.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and customer-service-oriented personality.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Ability to lift approximately 35 pounds and perform physical work as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential roof inspections to identify missing, damaged, or deteriorated shingles, storm and wind damage, leaks, flashing, pipe boots, ventilation, gutters, aging issues, improper repairs, and determine repair or replacement needs.
• Take detailed photographs and videos documenting roof conditions and prepare inspection reports.
• Operate drones to inspect roofs and capture aerial imagery; perform minor repairs within training scope.
• Use company mobile apps and technology to document inspections, photos, videos, and GPS data.
• Provide professional first-contact customer service, explain findings, offer honest recommendations, and connect customers with sales/estimating when appropriate.
