Crazy Maple Studio, Inc. is seeking a ReelShort Screenwriter in Sunnyvale, CA, to adapt web novels into engaging screenplays with a focus on romance and drama. The role combines creative writing with data-informed storytelling in a fast-paced startup environment.

You will read, analyze, and transform content while collaborating with peers and participating in script workshops to refine storytelling for HD streaming content.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of screenwriting experience.
• Strong creative screenwriting skills, particularly in romance and drama.
• Bachelor’s degree in History, English, Fine Arts, Screenwriting, or a related field.
• Comfortable writing young adult romance/drama, which may include sensitive and triggering content.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong interest in reading novels.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the online reading or publishing industry, both historical and current.
• Passion for content creation and prior experience in the field is a plus.
• Ability to work well under pressure and possess strong interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work across different time zones.
• Eagerness to learn and gain experience in the gaming and content industry.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Read web novels to understand themes and plots; use them as references for writing original screenplays.
• Analyze content and data to identify issues and lay out plans for optimization.
• Write original content and occasionally collaborate on published content.
• Utilize data to enhance in-app retention, book retention optimization, chapter conversion, new user tutorials, and marketing promotions.
• Provide constructive feedback and foster team collaboration.
