Job summary

Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. is seeking a Manufacturing Associate for the Rolling Mill in Charlotte, NC.

You will oversee material flow in the finishing department and support a variety of machine operations, ensuring accuracy and safety. The role requires 1–3 years of industrial experience with overhead cranes and forklifts, a High School Diploma or GED, and the ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule including days, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of industrial or manufacturing experience operating an overhead crane and forklift.
• Ability to learn new roles and work on a 12-hour rotating Dupont schedule (days, nights, two weekends a month).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and manage the flow and identification of material through the rolling mill finishing department.
• Operate finishing machines and assist in machine operations including straightening, shearing, stacking, and tying/bundling.
• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on banding and tying machines and coordinate reloading of materials.
