Job summary

Gerdau North America in Petersburg, VA, is seeking a Manufacturing Associate to keep rolling mill equipment operating safely and efficiently. You will maintain high standards of housekeeping, perform quality inspections, and support maintenance tasks on a rotating 12-hour schedule with weekends.

Applicants should have at least 3 years in manufacturing, basic computer skills, and the ability to read charts, schedules, and operate HMI gauges and touchscreen interfaces.

Qualifications

• Entrance exam completed.
• 3 years manufacturing or industrial experience.
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts incl. weekends.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Experience with heavy equipment and cranes a plus.
• Strong math, problem solving, and multi-tasking.
• Ability to read charts and schedules; use touchscreens and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Maintain bucket operations to keep production flowing.
• Keep a 5S standard throughout shifts with safety focus.
• Follow cleaning schedules.
• Assist maintenance and blade/roll changes and inspections.
