Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering support to the Rolling Mill.

You will research vendor proposals, coordinate maintenance, and evaluate design modifications to improve reliability and performance. Responsibilities include creating preventive maintenance standards, planning long-term maintenance, procuring spare parts, troubleshooting mechanical systems, and leading installation and modification projects with contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3–5 years of industrial experience desirable.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor/3D, and Office software.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze vendor proposals for design or application feasibility.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to optimize equipment utilization.
• Evaluate and recommend design modifications to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Create and assist in preventive maintenance standards and solutions.
• Perform long-term maintenance planning and purchase spare parts.
• Assist with troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, heat transfer, and combustion systems.
• Lead coordination with trades and contractors on projects.
• Lead installation and modification of equipment.
