Job summary

Nucor is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our steel melt shop and rolling mill teams. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical mill equipment, support installation and commissioning, and coordinate outages and maintenance activities to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of hands-on experience in steel mill maintenance, including Raw Material Handling, Walking Beam

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of experience performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical failures for steel rolling mill equipment.
• Experience in installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of new and existing mechanical equipment in a melt shop and rolling mill (Raw Material Handling, Walking Beam Furnaces, Roughing Mill, Steckel Mill, Levelers).
• Root cause failure analysis on mechanical breakdowns using IBA Analyzer and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems in the steel melt shop and rolling mill.
• Coordinate maintenance outages, contractor schedules, and internal work orders to a unified project timeline.
• Create and validate 3D models of components, assemblies, and modifications using Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD.
