Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment in our Cartersville, GA facility.

The role requires strong mechanical and welding skills, 3–5 years in industrial maintenance, and the ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift. The position offers a total earnings potential of about $100,000 per year, including hourly pay, bonuses, shift premiums, and annual overtime.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and welding skills with 3-5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics, blue-print reading, troubleshooting and repairing motors and gearboxes.
• Ability to work at heights and in variable weather; read drawings and use precision tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment to keep operations running.
• Disassemble, repair, lubricate, and reassemble machinery in varied maintenance tasks.
• Work in a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (days/nights) and adheres to safety requirements.

Job description

Earning potential of $100,000/ year. This includes hourly pay of $32.60 an hr, weekly production bonus, shift premiums, and scheduled annual overtime of 312 hours. Benefits start on your first day!

Your Qualifications :

• Strong mechanical, and welding skills with 3 - 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial or similar environment.Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, blue-print reading, troubleshooting and repairing motors, and gearboxes.Ability to work in heights and variable weather.Ability to work a 12 hr rotating shift, days, nights, and two weekends a month (Dupont 4/3 Schedule)High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Ability to read drawings, charts, tables, and experience with using various precision measuring instruments and hand tools.Ability to read, write, and subtract and use shop mathematics.

Your Work:

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs necessary to keep plant, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition; working in the many and diversified capacities required in maintenance. Work involves a wide range and variety of complex work and duties requiring considerable care to effectively dismantle, repair, lubricate, reassemble, or otherwise work on general maintenance in varied capacities.
