Job summary

Meridian Waste in Sanford, NC is seeking a Roll Off Driver to safely operate a collection truck and provide prompt, courteous waste removal services for customers. You will verify vehicle safety compliance before operation and ensure adherence to all regulations during service and daily vehicle checks.

The role requires a Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement, at least two years of experience driving heavy commercial trucks, and strong reading and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Must have Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
• Two years of prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks.
• Excellent reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate heavy trucks along designated routes to the disposal site and service each customer as identified on the route sheet.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of material at the facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and co-workers to ensure routes are serviced timely and professionally.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers per procedures.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable waste and clean spills in accordance with safety standards.
• Maintain vehicle readiness; clean waste from packer blade and truck body as needed.
• Complete route/productivity sheets and vehicle condition reports and meet productivity standards.
• Follow safety policies and demonstrate honesty, trustworthiness, and professionalism.

Education
