Job summary

Socket.dev in Maryland is seeking a Purchasing professional to oversee all purchasing activities for a casino, coordinating supplies, services, and equipment. You will report to the Purchasing-Receiving Manager and collaborate with Finance to optimize procurement and vendor relationships.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced casino environment; a 18+ age minimum and gaming license are required.

• Proven experience providing high level of guest service.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company.

Responsibilities

• Develops methods and coordinates purchasing of designated supplies, materials, services, and equipment for the casino.
• Establishes and implements short-and long-term organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures as relates to all purchasing functions; monitors and evaluates operation effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
• Acts as negotiator between the Resort and vendors/suppliers on procurement contracts; keeps informed of all new developments relative to available resources; makes recommendations designed to reduce costs, updates systems and provides environmentally approved materials and services.
• Reviews major procurement contracts, coordinates contract compliance, change orders and problem resolution in conformance with contract law and licensing requirements.
• Monitors and maintains the approved vendor lists.
• All other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develops methods and coordinates purchasing of designated supplies, materials, services, and equipment for the casino.

REPORTING LINE

You will report directly to the Purchasing-Receiving Manager and then the Director of Finance.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• The ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide

• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stressful situations.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company.
• The ability to verify the right to work in the United States.
• This position requires a Gaming License.

EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for prolonged periods of time. Ability to push, pull, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, sit, climb, balance, carry and lift to 20 lbs. Constant use of hearing, speech, vision (including distinguishing between shades of color), radios, and tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
