Job summary

Datavant is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Release of Information (ROI) Health Information Specialist to support a medical facility in Leesburg, VA. This role is responsible for processing medical record requests, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and ensuring accurate and timely release of protected health information (PHI).

The ideal candidate has 1 year of health information experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask across EMR systems.

Qualifications

• 1 year health information related experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to commute between locations as needed.
• Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required.

Responsibilities

• Process Release of Information (ROI) requests accurately and efficiently.
• Retrieve and compile medical records from EMR systems.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance when handling all protected health information.
• Pull and generate reports as needed.
• Perform administrative functions related to ROI processing.
• Maintain organized documentation and tracking of requests.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare staff, patients, and requestors.
• Provide coverage support when onsite staff are out (PTO/call-outs).
• Maintain productivity and quality standards.
