Job summary

Datavant in Hicksville, NY is seeking a Lead Health Information Specialist to oversee ROI operations, ensure HIPAA-compliant processing of medical record requests, and mentor the ROI team. This on-site role requires local travel, strong organization, and ability to train new staff.

Responsibilities include call support, inventory oversight, handling confidential data, and collaborating with clients and clinical staff to meet quality and turnaround targets. Prior HIM/ROI experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Willingness to travel locally on a weekly basis as needed.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Experience with ROI workflows and data handling is preferred.
• Must pass annual HIPAA exam and a 90-day ROI Certification with a qualifying score.

Responsibilities

• Provide call support and assist with ROI-related inquiries.
• Process medical record requests accurately and confidentially in compliance with HIPAA.
• Assist Supervisor with inventory management and queue prioritization.
• Serve as a resource on ROI workflows, EMR navigation, SOPs, and best practices.
• Support client and internal escalations with timely follow-up and clear communication.
• Assist with training and onboarding of new hires, including mentoring.
• Facilitate team training sessions to reinforce compliance and quality standards.
