Job summary

Clarendon College is seeking an Assistant Rodeo Coach to support the Head Rodeo Coach in all aspects of the rodeo program operations. The role involves recruiting prospective student-athletes, supporting academic success initiatives, supervising practices, and assisting with livestock management and facilities maintenance.

The position requires travel, evening and weekend hours, and a strong commitment to student development and competitive excellence. Reports to the Head Rodeo Coach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in rodeo coaching, livestock care, or collegiate athletics preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes.
  • Support academic success initiatives for student-athletes.
  • Supervise practices and assist with livestock management.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment for the rodeo program.
  • Support administrative functions of the program.
  • Travel for team activities and competitions as needed.
  • Supervise daily practices and training sessions.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to student-athletes during practices and competitions.
  • Monitor academic progress and encourage class attendance.
  • Help maintain program discipline and expectations.
  • Assist with arena, equipment, and facilities maintenance.
  • Perform scheduling, communication, and record-keeping tasks.
  • Coordinate travel for rodeo events and competitions.
