Job summary

Stoke Space is hiring a Software Integration Engineer for the Moses Lake Test Site (MLTS). You will own the software configuration for test stands and ground systems, support operations, and drive software improvements to speed and reliability.

You will work with the Rust-based software stack and Python automation, collaborating across MLTS and HQ to ensure daily test cadence. Willingness to be on site and communicate across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional or internship experience in flight software, ground software, hardware integration, or systems engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to write, debug, and ship software in a systems language (Rust) within a Linux environment.
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting language for automation and data tooling.
• Experience with Git, configuration management, and deploying software on physical systems outside of a controlled development environment.
• Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, subnetting, and troubleshooting device connectivity.
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineers and operators who aren't software specialists; in-person work at Moses Lake site.

Responsibilities

• Own the software configuration for MLTS test stands and ground systems; ensure tests run on known configurations.
• Provide hands-on software support during test operations and troubleshoot in real time.
• Translate observed friction into clear requirements, bug reports, and feature requests for the VSW team.
• Represent site needs within VSW to maximize test cadence and reliability.
• Turn recurring issues into permanent fixes via code changes or tools.
• Own pieces of the VSW stack, especially test readiness tooling and deployment workflows.
• Make software approachable by building runbooks and documentation for operators and test engineers.
