Job summary

Firehawk Aerospace in Lawton, OK is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize rocket motor manufacturing processes. You will work with design, quality, and production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable operations and drive continuous improvement.

You will lead DFMA feedback, create detailed work instructions, and implement process improvements while coordinating with tooling, LAT activities, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering in aerospace/defense or related industry.
• Strong ownership mentality and ability to lead new product manufacturing design processes flow.
• Experience with manufacturing process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and DFMA.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling software (Creo/Windchill or equivalent) and PLM systems (Deltek Costpoint or equivalent).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize integration and manufacturing processes for rocket motor production.
• Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and DFMA feedback.
• Create and maintain work instructions, process docs, and manufacturing plans for production and integration.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Establish facility to perform LAT and support LAT activities, ensuring quality standards.
• Support design, procurement, and implementation of tools, fixtures, and equipment.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
• Develop and execute validation and qualification plans for new processes and equipment.
• Collaborate with quality to ensure standards and customer requirements.
