Job summary

Firehawk Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, optimize, and support rocket motor manufacturing processes, collaborating with design, quality, and production teams to ensure efficient, high-quality, scalable operations.

This hands-on role emphasizes problem solving, lean principles, DFMA feedback, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities spanning process documentation, LAT readiness, tool integration, and cross-functional collaboration; willing to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 8+ years of manufacturing engineering, process development, or production support in aerospace/defense.
• Strong ownership mentality and leadership in new product manufacturing processes flow.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize integration and manufacturing processes for rocket motor systems.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and provide DFMA feedback.
• Create and maintain work instructions, process docs, and manufacturing plans.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for production issues.
• Develop validation and qualification plans for new processes, equipment, and materials.
• Support KPIs like cycle time, scrap rates, and downtime, with improvement strategies.
