Job summary

Voyager Technologies seeks a Mechanical Properties Technician in Pueblo, CO, to perform routine mechanical properties testing on composite materials for solid rocket propellant production. The role requires following established procedures, data recording, and using LIMS in a controlled lab environment.

Based in Pueblo and reporting to the Chemical Lab Manager, you will execute load frame analyses, calorimetry, and burn rate tests, while adhering to safety and ISO practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
• Good data recording and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a structured, routine testing environment under supervision.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses (must be 21+).

Responsibilities

• Execute established mechanical properties test methods for composite materials following WIs and protocols.
• Perform routine in-process and acceptance testing of materials.
• Record and document test data accurately and in a clear manner, including entry into LIMS.
• Organize and compile test results into deliverable formats for review by supervising chemists.
• Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of testing equipment.
