Job summary

The City of Fort Lupton is seeking an enthusiastic Rock Wall Attendant to supervise the climbing wall during evenings and some weekends. You will train participants, open/close operations and ensure a safe, friendly environment for members and guests.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, are 18+, and can complete CPR/First Aid/AED within six months. Previous climbing experience is preferred; duties also include paperwork and maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, 18+.
• CPR/First Aid and AED training to be completed within 6 months of hire.
• Indoor climbing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise climbing wall during hours of operation.
• Train participants to climb safely.
• Open and close the Rock Wall.
• Perform cleaning and basic maintenance as needed.
• Follow emergency action plan procedures.
• Inspect area and equipment daily before opening.
• Complete paperwork and checklists daily.
• Report major maintenance and supply needs.
• Enforce center rules for all participants.

**Instructor needed for evenings and some weekends**

Under direction from the Recreation Manager, the Rock Wall Attendants supervise the daily activities at the climbing wall to provide a safe and friendly climbing environment for members and guests to enjoy the benefits of indoor rock climbing. Attendant will also train members, guests and other rock wall employees in the use of the wall. May perform other duties as assigned.

## Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

• Support and assist members and guests as needed
• Provide overall supervision of climbing wall during hours of operation
• Train all interested participants to climb safely
• Open and close the Rock Wall
• Complete deep cleaning and basic maintenance to the equipment as needed
• Follow the established emergency action plan procedures, as required
• Conduct a daily inspection of the area and equipment before opening
• Fill out all necessary paperwork and checklists on a daily basis
• Report all major maintenance and supply needs to the appropriate staff
• Enforce Recreation Center/Rock Wall rules at all times

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, grasp, push, pull, talk, hear and see. Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds.
