Job summary

Equilibrium is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Rock Mechanics Engineer to support open pit and underground mining projects across the US. You'll contribute to data collection, field programs, analyses, design, and optimization of rock engineering solutions, collaborating with experienced engineers.

You’ll work on slope stability, underground excavations, and ground support design, with opportunities for professional development and growth in a values-driven team.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in rock mechanics or geotechnical engineering
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with open pit and underground mining environments
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity and safety

Responsibilities

  • Perform field work to support geological, geotechnical, and hydrogeological investigations
  • Interpret geological and geotechnical data and conduct analyses for slope stability and underground excavations
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across mining, geology, and operations
  • Support senior team members in various project tasks
