Job summary

1X in San Carlos is seeking a Test Fixture Design Engineer to design and deliver mechanical fixtures for NEO validation. You will own fixture development end-to-end—from concept through CAD, drawings, fabrication, and assembly—ensuring robustness, manufacturability, and safe test setup.

You will collaborate with Test, Design, Manufacturing, and external vendors, drive DFM, and support test schedules with production-ready fixtures; the role offers comprehensive benefits and a compensation range

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 2-4 years designing mechanical test fixtures, tooling, or similar hardware.
• Strong 3D CAD and 2D drawings skills for machining or fabrication.
• Experience working with machine shops or external vendors to build hardware.
• Understanding of loads, fixturing, interfaces, and safe test setup.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver mechanical test fixtures enabling safe, repeatable validation.
• Own fixture development end-to-end from concept through CAD, fabrication and assembly.
• Ensure robustness, manufacturability, and cost-conscious design.
• Collaborate with Test, Design, Manufacturing and external vendors to meet schedules.
