Job summary

Dexmate Inc. is seeking hands-on Engineering Technicians to keep our robots built, tested, and running at the Fremont facility. You will bring up new units, run tests, maintain the internal fleet, and assist in field deployments with customers.

You will translate test plans into data, identify root causes, and contribute to testing and maintenance strategies as we scale from prototypes to production. This role blends hardware and software disciplines in a fast-paced robotics environment.

Qualifications

• > 2+ years hands-on experience building, testing, maintaining, or repairing complex electromechanical systems (robotics, automation, etc).
• > Read schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings; comfortable with crimping, soldering, harness work, torque-controlled assembly.
• > Fluency with diagnostic tools: DMM, oscilloscope, power supplies, current probes.
• > Comfortable on a Linux command line; SSH into robots, read logs, run scripts, flash and update software.
• > Methodical approach to testing; follow procedures; record what happened accurately.
• > Clear written and verbal communication with engineers and field customers.
• > Degree or equivalent hands-on training in engineering/technical field; track record weighs.
• > Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• System Build & Bring-Up: Assemble and bring up robots, subsystems, and test fixtures from drawings and BOMs; flash firmware and verify units against spec.
• Test & Validation: Execute component-, subsystem-, and system-level tests; set up rigs and collect data; adapt procedures as specs evolve.
• Test Development & Automation: Help write improved test procedures; build and maintain test fixtures; script repetitive tests and data capture.
• Fleet Maintenance: Own maintenance for internal robot fleet; track wear and downtime.
• Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis: Diagnose faults; isolate root cause; perform repairs and write findings for engineers.
• Field Support: Travel ~10–20% to customer sites for installs, repairs, and debugging with Hardware Support.
• Documentation: Maintain records of builds, test results, repairs, configuration per serial number; create runbooks.
• Engineering Feedback Loop: Flag recurring issues and contribute to design-for-test improvements.
