Job summary

Stryker is seeking a curious, hands-on engineer to join the team developing the Mako robotic-assisted orthopedic platform. You will translate clinical needs into engineering requirements, develop prototypes, and collaborate across software, mechanical, and test teams to bring features from concept to implementation.

You will work across disciplines, evaluate trade-offs, and interact with surgeons to understand workflows.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
2+ years of industry experience in engineering product development.
Experience with robotics, electromechanical, or mechatronic systems.

Responsibilities

Support design, development, implementation, and integration of features for the robotic platform.
Translate clinical needs into engineering requirements and acceptance criteria.
Develop and evaluate early concepts and prototypes to inform design decisions.
Apply engineering judgment and data-driven analysis to balance requirements.
Work hands-on with integrated robotic systems to evaluate performance and root causes.
Collaborate with software, controls, mechanical, platform, and test engineers through development.
Maintain system requirements and design documentation with traceability and verification.
Interact with surgeons and clinical stakeholders to understand workflows and gather feedback.
Analyze test data using engineering and statistical methods to support decisions.
