Job summary

Socket.dev in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Robot System Testing Engineer to lead validation of our robotic systems. You will define test strategy, decide what to test at full system vs unit level, and coordinate between simulation and real-robot experiments.

You will run tests in simulation and on hardware, report results to design teams, and build tooling for testing and reporting. Strong C++/Python, ROS2, and Linux experience with Gazebo or IsaacSim are essential; safety-critical robotics

Qualifications

BS in Robotics, CS, EE, ME or related field.
Experience operating robotic systems in safety critical environments.
Deep experience defining system level validation plans.
Proficiency in C++/Python and ROS2; Linux development.
Knowledge of CANOpen, EtherCAT, UART.
Familiarity with Gazebo and IsaacSim.

Responsibilities

Define test strategy including what needs to be tested at the full system vs unit level.
Execute tests in simulation and on robot, and report results back to the design teams.
Distribute test cases between simulation and real robot environments.
Work with the Simulation team to standup requirements in sim.
Develop testing and reporting utilities.
Define and manage the SW version approval pipeline for our field deployment.
