Job summary

Autonomous Solutions Inc. in Colorado is seeking a System Software Engineer II for the Commercial Landscaping Team. You will bridge firmware and higher-level software, maintain the operating system, and write core abstractions that power the robot fleet.

You will work with firmware, perception, and applications engineers, primarily in Rust, C++, and Python, and regularly verify changes on real hardware. Strong Linux and Yocto experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production code experience in at least one compiled language (Rust, C++, Go, Java or C).
• Experience building and maintaining large, complex software systems over time.
• Operated and maintained a complex Linux system in production.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the robot operating system (Ubuntu/Yocto) and system-level tools.
• Write and maintain software in Rust, Python, and C++ across the stack.
• Bridge firmware and higher-level software, translating between layers.
• Build tools to improve fleet observability, stability and performance.
• Verify changes on-bot and assist other teams in the field.
• Debug multi-threaded issues across firmware, perception, and application layers.
• Collaborate daily with firmware, perception, and applications engineers.
• Learn new tools and technologies as the platform grows.
