Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a highly talented mechanical engineer for its R&D Hardware Engineering team. You will contribute to conceptualization, prototyping, detailed design, and commercial release of complex electromechanical systems, with a focus on integrated hardware and robotics.

You will apply hands-on design skills, drive feasibility analyses, and lead collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver optimized solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on design experience.
• Industrial robotics, automation, and material handling experience preferred.
• SolidWorks proficiency required or highly desired.
• Experience with FEA (SolidWorks Simulation or Ansys) desired.
• Experience designing parts for multiple manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Invent novel, reliable solutions for highly integrated hardware systems.
• Perform design, prototyping, and validation of complex electromechanical systems using SolidWorks.
• Conduct feasibility analyses and trade studies to evaluate concepts and identify optimum solutions.
• Create BOMs and manage ECNs in Siemens Teamcenter PLM.
• Support assembly, testing, troubleshooting and design changes.
• Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
